A little sonnet

Here's a little sonnet I wrote. It's somewhat based on something I made six years ago.

Contrasting lonely coldness of the moon
And piercing icy sorrow of the night
Aloft the silent wind, there calls a tune
Enchanting crackles from a fiery light

Its sweet aroma seeps into my eyes
I listen and my heart begins to race
Defenseless to my self-seductive lies
I cast my baggage off and hit the pace

The music flows about my every bound
And crashes like a wave into the shore
I gasp for breath and fight to hear the sound
But dissonance is all it has in store

Nothing feeds an ill-conceived temptation
Like tantalizing stares of isolation
