Google has recently published a collection of web authoring statistics, summarizing how web authors generally write their webpages, what features they use, etc. The data covers over a billion webpages, all text/html. The graphs will not work correctly in Internet Explorer without a plugin (it may not even work with a plugin; I haven't tested), so they recommend using something with native SVG support like Firefox 1.5.

Its quite an interesting read, lets hope they mke it evenbetter for the next one!
