I Have Now Tested IE 7
Well, I got around to actually trying out Internet Explorer 7, hoping that maybe the situation wasn't as bad as I initially thought. It turns out it's worse. Now it simply pisses me off that Microsoft acts like they care about web developers. As far as I can tell, the only thing that they've changed in regards to CSS support is fix a few little bugs. As far as I can tell, there is no new CSS support in Internet Explorer 7. It seems they couldn't even be bothered to add simple child selector support or the hover pseudoclass for elements other than anchors. Web developers weren't a focus in this new version. They weren't even an afterthought. They were totally and utterly ignored.
Great job, Microsoft. I had hopes that you were starting to clean up your act in recent years, but I see now that you're as terrible as ever. I officially have no respect for anyone involved in the process of deciding what new features would go into Internet Explorer 7. You've given the web development community the finger, and I hope to do the same in return.
By the way, Internet Explorer 7 also had serious issues accessing pages in the local intranet. I'm not sure of the source, but most of the pages I tried to access (which work alright in Internet Explorer 6) gave me 404 errors.

Meh, Exactly what I expected from Microsoft. Thanks for confirming my suspicions and keeping me from having to find a windows box to test it on.
