I Am Back
I'm back from my Disneyland trip. I actually got back the night before last, but I didn't feel like blogging (tired). Disneyland itself is pretty much exactly as it was last time I came, if not more crowded and with 50th anniversary
banners on every ride. But last time I went, they were only just starting to build the Disney California Adventure park next door to Disneyland. I checked that out, and I was surprized with how much I liked it. It was like a second Disneyland full of fresh stuff. The whole thing was up to the same quality as Disneyland, except the design seemed a bit more laid-back, so to speak. While the slightest change in Disneyland — getting rid of an old ride, for example — would probably be greeted with lots of strong, mixed emotions, they are more free to play around with the layout and features of California Adventure. Here and there, you come to dead ends and fairly empty areas of the park, and you can tell that they plan to change stuff around and build off of it in the future.
While I was gone, it seems a lot of blogworthy material (at least as far as Nano See, Nano Do goes) has happened. Google released Google Earth, Google Video Viewer, the A9-esque personalized search feature for My Search History that I said they'd be rolling out sooner or later, image search support for My Search History, and the Google Maps API.
I just updated the General Meta Data Profile to version 1.2, adding the shortcut
link type modifier for Internet Explorer compatibility (I hate Internet Explorer, but most web developers still have to work with it). I also made it so Internet Explorer users who follow a hotlink to an image on my site (in the public directory and also a few other locations) instead get the following message:
