Today, I started working on this search engine for my site, and it's now usable. It uses a custom-made web search style spider, written entirely in PHP (using MySQL) that crawls the pages of my site and builds the index for searching. This is my first attempt at a search engine of this scale, and there are plenty of areas where it could be improved, but hey, it's working. I hope to improve the relevance algorithms soon, and add other basic features like paging and more advanced search queries.
