Yahoo! has a new search tool available called Y!Q. It allows you to type a request in plan English, and it'll attempt to interpret the meaning of your request and strip it down to a basic search query automatically. It's an interesting idea, but it could be much better. When I ask a complicated question, it often strips away all of the actual meaning and leaves me with only a broad category. For example, I tried searching for What was Dream Theater's first album? and it just gave me results for the term dream theater. It didn't give me any information about their first album, or anything that specifically mentioned When Dream And Day Unite at all.

I believe that MSN has a similar new search engine, although I haven't played around with it enough to know anything. Purely saw and ad for it.
