Another major Firefox developer has been hired by Google. Darin Fisher has joined the Google team, as he posted on his weblog. This follows a recent announcement that Ben Goodger has been hired by Google. These kinds of hirings are often signs of a new project that Google is working on or a new direction. It seems very likely that they will begin to add a lot of Firefox tools in the near future.

Darin says that, like Ben, he'll continue with his involvement in the Mozilla community and Firefox. It's likely that Google is actually encouraging them to do so, since it will indirectly benefit their own cause.
