Downy and IRC
I've been making a lot of progress lately on Downy, my web-based file browsing system. You can check out the news here: Nanobox/Downy News. That address might change in the future, because I am planning on switching my news system to Blogger instead of just manual HTML. Most of my progress so far has been on the Gecko version of Downy. Because of the advanced features in Downy, I can't reasonably make one version that works for all browsers, so instead it automatically serves you the version best suited for your browser. The Gecko version works in all modern Mozilla browsers, including Firefox. After I am finished with the previews view, I will make a non-Javascript version for Gecko browsers, and then I will start work on versions for other browsers.
In other news, I've set up an IRC channel on EsperNet. #nsnd is a general discussion channel, mostly about the types of stuff I talk about here. I encourage you to join, since it's a truly awesome place of unimaginable happiness or complete despair, whatever you're into. And I give ops to everyone who asks!* Just connect to irc.esper.net/6667 with your favorite IRC client (I like X-Chat, although most people seem to like mIRC for some strange reason. If you're on Windows and are willing to pay $25 for a really good IRC client, I strongly recommend Klient.) and type /join #nsnd. Then the fun will begin! Can't wait to see you there, whoever you are!
*: I don't give ops to everyone who asks.
