Blogger.com Recommends Firefox

I just decided to look at Blogger's browser information section, and I was amused that they clearly recommend that people use Firefox.

Usage Breakdown:
  • 71% of our users use IE6/Windows; clearly the majority yet a lower percentage than the web in general.
  • 6% use Mozilla Firefox; an up-and-comer, which we all use internally.
  • 3% use Safari; also widely used internally.
  • 2% use AOL

I like how it says, which we all use internally under Firefox. It also suggests that users of unsupported browsers switch to Firefox, not Internet Explorer: AOL users, as well as those unaccounted for here (Netscape, Opera, etc.), would be wise to use Mozilla Firefox in order to have the best possible experience using Blogger.. It also has a Get Firefox image below it.

It's great that so many web services are actively promoting Firefox, and it just goes to show how tired sites like this are of Internet Explorer holding back the advancement of the Internet. It's their support that will ultimately lead to the overthrow of the Internet Explorer empire. The ignorant masses like to be told what to do from authorities, which in this case are the big companies like Microsoft and popular web services like Google and Yahoo!. Once everyone but Microsoft tells people to switch to Firefox, they will. And then we will move from this stone-age Web of ours to the Web of the future. Keep spreading the fire!
