Matthias' Pupil Development

Some may remember that old book slash MegaZeux game that I started working on several years ago. Well, I ditched the original story, but it's being rewritten from scratch, and done much better. The story, not the game.

Matthias' Pupil is a fantasy with a simple plot and a complex carry-through. You have your basic idea of a kid who turns out to be some chosen one from a prophecy, and he has to stop some guys from getting the crystals that control the universe. Nothing new or original there. However, the events that happen in the meantime are what make this story unique. There are twists and turns in every direction, lots of memorable moments, friendships and betrayals, etc. The story is actually two separate stories that happen simultaneously and eventually merge into one. The narrator changes frequently, and most characters narrate the story at one point or another. I also completely change the narration style with each character, in everything from diction to subject choice and interests to use of symbolism and metaphors (which there are a lot of).

This story was fun to write back in my junior high days, and it's even more fun now. My original story was over 200 pages (typed, 12pt, double spaced) when I stopped writing (which still wasn't near the end), and this new one looks like it will be a lot longer than that.

Anyway, the point of this post was to show you my work in progress: Matthias' Pupil. Feedback is appreciated, as long as you remember that this isn't considered anywhere near final, and I personally don't like most of it in terms of being a finished work.
